Queenstown Midwives are an established independent rural LMC team based in the Queenstown Lakes District.
We work with our local primary maternity hospital, located 180km’s from our nearest base hospital in Invercargill. 
We are looking for experienced midwives to fill LMC vacancies within our busy team in 2015. Caseload is flexible with supportive backup.

We are fortunate to live in a remote but beautiful place with an amazing outdoor lifestyle, so regular time off and breaks are necessary and supported!

Rural experience preferred, however rural mentorship via MMPO is also available and encouraged.

Oamaru Hospital is seeking a LMC Midwife .8 FTE.

Join our busy primary unit with two birthing rooms and 3 postnatal rooms providing comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care to the woman of the area and primary birthing in Oamaru.  Vehicles, kits and mileage are all included in this position.

This LMC position is within a team of midwives and requires 8 days on with 6 days off leaving you plenty of time to explore the Victorian architecture, penguin colonies, Steampunk attractions, cycling trails plus much more that the beautiful Waitaki District has to offer.

Oamaru has affordable house prices and is a great place to join the property ladder.  Schooling in the district is of a high quality with Primary, Intermediate, and Secondary schools (both same sex and co-ed).

LMC position(s) - Wanaka


Wanaka Midwives is an established independent rural LMC team, covering the greater Wanaka area. We provide antenatal care in a clinic, attend home births and primary unit births (1 hr away), and work with an intrapartum team for women choosing to birth in Dunedin (tertiary) or Invercargill (secondary).

We are looking for midwives to fill LMC vacancies in our rapidly growing community. There is also an opportunity for a short term locum position (3-12 months) to cover a midwife’s leave in 2018, starting immediately.

Wanaka is an incredible place with skiing, climbing, tramping and fishing at our doorstep. Regular time off and breaks are supported within our practice.

Rural experience is beneficial, however there may be mentoring through RMRR rural retention if needed. A relocation grant may be available.
