Coastal Midwives are looking for an enthusiastic midwife to join our established practice on the West Coast of the South Island. One of our treasured team is leaving for home shores and we have an opening for a new practice partner.

We are a supportive practice of four midwives working in two pairs to back each other up. This enables us to have regular time off-call on alternate weekends (Thursday 5pm to Monday 9am). As a practice we cover a large geographical area with a small population - from Reefton in the North to Fox Glacier in the South. We all offer births at home and hospital, including water birth. The base Secondary Hospital is located in Greymouth.

Because of our unique geography and population, you may be eligible to apply for our Sustainability package which includes free local education, clinic rooms and additional funding per woman on top of Section 88 claiming. This position may also be eligible for a relocation grant and locum cover days from the Rural Midwifery Recruitment and Retention Service. Voluntary Bonding funding through the MOH may also be available for a new graduate.
